This is my second entry on my journey to learning Korean.
Since my last entry, I've begun to study on a more consistent basis. Instead of doing just listening practice for 30 minutes every few days. I do either listening practice 30+ minutes or a combination of Anki for vocabulary and videos on Youtube for learning grammar.
As you can see in the heatmap, I've been consistent since I made the heatmap.
I'm not going to lie, it has been tough. I find it extremely difficult to remember Korean words. I think I've come to the realization that listening only does not work for me. Even listening and repeating, that doesn't work for me. I've done over 60 lessons in Pimsleur, and my abilities have improved extremely marginally. When I watch lessons or practice Anki, I can more easily see my progress and test what I know. If I'm not paying attention, then I don't get it right. While with Pimsleur, I will tune out and come back into the lesson a couple minutes later wondering what happened. The only time that Pimsleur works well for me is when I'm driving. Because it's hard for me to walk around aimlessly or stare at walls when I need to drive.
The goal is the work, not the result of the work.
