This is my sixth entry on my journey to learning Korean.
I did my lesson on iTalki with the tutor on last Thursday. Honestly, it wasn't that great. She was nice but she talked a lot about stuff that wasn't really that important, and didn't seem to understand that I didn't want a textbook walkthrough. If I wanted that, I'd just get a textbook myself.
I thought I'd give it another shot since I wanted to see if it was because it was an intro class. So, I took another class with the same teacher. Turns out that it was not great. Again. I think maybe she misunderstood how far I was in Korean. Which is still not that far, but further than the very beginning, and we just covered some very basic stuff.
Earlier today I had another trial lesson with a teacher. I actually was supposed to do it a few days ago, but I had to reschedule because I got in a car accident right before I was supposed to take the lesson. That kind of sucked. I really liked the style of this lesson. She spoke mostly in Korean, and I spoke a bit of Korean when I could and mostly English. She would ask me questions and explain things in Korean. I would have to focus really hard to try to understand, but I was actually surprised by how much I could understand. It was great and I'm going to do more classes with her in the future.
